The Canada of... takes the absurd phrase "x is the canada of y" (as in "Portugal is the Canada of Spain") and uses it as the basis of an installation that examines various relationships of dominance and power in the political, economic and social realms.

Ranging from the humorous [gravy is the canada of mashed potatoes] to the political [eminent domain is the canada of manifest destiny] to the darkly surreal [refusal is the canada of murder] and the local [bushwick is the canada of williamsburg], these phrases are the foundation for the collages, drawings and photography that comprise the exhibition.
